Day Five: Dog Day
Today we had two visiting counselors. We had Kelsey's sister Ashley and Cameron's friend Aubrun. They were super fun additions to our last day. This morning we started our last day of camp by finishing our theater boxes. Then we played a bat sonar game and everyone loved it! Then we met Jill who taught us all about how to train dogs. After a quick lunch we played a human knot game. Then we made a paper chain with each link saying something the camper loved about camp! After some Popsicles our guest speakers today were the Burlington K-9 Unit arrived. Officer Wade Labrecque was our community partner and helped us organize for this event. Corporal Martin and his dog Capone also came to show off their tricks and talents. This included simple tasks like sit, lay down, heel, and stay. This then ranged to more complicated tasks such as searching and tracking and protecting his or her officer. The campers had an amazing time watching the show!

Day Three: Wildlife Day
Today we started by working on word searches and coloring pages. Once all our friends got to camp we broke up into small groups to discuss all of our pets. Then we picked our dream pet animal. Lots of campers said Tigers, Lions, and Bears (Oh My!). Next the Vermont Disc Dogs were supposed to show us a demonstration but unfortunately they were unable to come to camp. However that just meant we could go to Red Rocks Park! Before going we made binoculars and bingo sheets. Once at Red Rocks Park we walked in the water, had lunch, and played games. Once we returned from Red Rocks Park we made dirt cup snacks! Then we played more games as we waited for parents.
Day Two: HSCC Day
This morning we started by finishing decorating our theater boxes. Then we made dog treats! The campers were sent home with the recipe. After a quick snack we went into the classroom and Hannah Blackenbeckler taught us all about small animals. We made them treats and blankets. After some games we had lunch. Then we brainstormed jobs people can have that work with animals. Then we went and saw Gerrett Levin from BEVS. He taught us how to bandage animals. Then we played careers charades. Finally we worked on our theater boxes.

Day One: Enrichment Day
Today we started off a great week of camp coloring our name tags and our first letter of our name. Then we played a name game to introduce ourselves to one another. After, we went on a tour and played new games! Next we had snack before our guest speaker arrived. Michelle Carrol Douglas with the Vermont Therapy Dogs brought her dog Ritter for us all to enjoy. We learned all about therapy dogs and got to pet Ritter! After Ritter and Michelle, we learned how to approach all the animals we will see this week. After a quick lunch we played a few games before our next speaker came. Holly Godfrey taught us all about clicker training with all sorts of animals. Finally we worked on our theater boxes which will be our week long project.
