Day One: Dog Day

As soon as camp started we attempted to go out to the dog yard to watch the Vermont Disc Dogs. Unfortunately, due to the thunder and lightening, we had to go inside for the rest of the day. The ladies with the Vermont Disc Dogs answered all of our questions and talked about the training the dogs go  through.
After this we started to color our name tags and the first letter of our names. Then we played a name game to help us figure out who our new friends are. Next we went on a tour, made cat toys, got our camp t-shirts, and played a game. After this we had snack and worked on our week long project. We started our collages that we will work on everyday this week.
We attempted to go outside, however, the rain was not cooperating. So, instead we played a game called Zip Zap. The campers really enjoyed the new game! To end our day we sat with the campers and did a Rose, Bud, and Thorn. The Rose is the best thing that happened, the Bud is what you are looking forward too, and the Thorn is something we did not like. Thankfully we had a lot of Roses and only a handful of Thorns. The Thorns were mostly due to the weather.
We can't wait to have a great week with the campers!
