Day Two: HSCC Day

Today was our HSCC day. Camp started out with some table activities and a few games. We then broke up into groups and started to brainstorm careers that involve animals. A lot of the campers were excited to potentially do these jobs in the future!
Next we had a guest speaker, Jodi Rabidoux from BEVS, an emergency vet center. She taught us about what foods and other objects are toxic to animals and how to keep our pets safe. We also learned how to bandage a wounded animal and go to practice on stuffed animals and Erin's personal dog, Shelby!
We made our way back outside to play a few games in the yard then were lucky enough to meet some of the recently transported puppies from Louisiana. This is great for both the kids and the puppies - the kids got an opportunity that most campers don't have, and the puppies got to practice their socialization skills. Hopefully these puppies find their FURever home very soon! To end our day, we made our way back outside and prepared for pick up!

Don't forget to have your camper wear their red Camp Paw Paw shirt tomorrow for our waling trip to Red Rocks Park!
