Day Three: Cat Day

Once we arrived at camp we worked on our collages and word searches. Then we chatted about the pets we have (or used to have) at home and talked about our dream pets. Some campers said lions, tigers, and bears (Oh My!). Then we went and met Joann, a staff member at HSCC. She taught us about native Vermont species. Joann shared facts about where the live and what to do if you encounter them. Next, we met Joann's hedgehog, Rick! Rick was so cute and had a soft belly. At first, some campers will a little nervous to give Rick a pet due to his quills, but then quickly learned Rick was a very gentle little guy. The campers spent majority of their afternoon hanging out and learning about Rick. Finally, we had snack and worked a bit more on collages before getting picked-up for the day.

Side Note! Please have your camper wear their Red Camp Paw Paw shirt tomorrow for our walk to Red Rocks Park. Sneakers and a water bottle will also be very important!
